Anne Arundel Gastroenterology Associates (AAGA) a Covenant Physician Partner, located in beautiful Annapolis, Maryland, is looking for a Fulltime Lab Assistant to join our talented and growing team.
Please note the pay for this position is $18.00-$20.00/hour
About the Opportunity
The Lab Assistant implements the laboratory mission, goals and objectives by exemplifying the short and long term vision, values and goals of the laboratory by providing professional service in the performance of job functions.
Essential Duties
- Receive and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Perform laboratory tests and analyses.
- Record and maintain results and data in the laboratory information system.
- Order and manage laboratory supplies.
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Assist other laboratory staff as needed.
- Perform grossing duties without supervision in a timely and accurate manner.
- Check all specimens for proper identification.
- Follow strict safety guidelines while handling specimens.
- Disinfect, clean, and store equipment after use.
About the Candidate
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Prior laboratory experience and knowledge
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and practices
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment and tools
- Experience with grossing preferred
